Julia Kefalinos

Julia Kefalinos established her criminal defense and bankruptcy firm in 2006 after 16 years as a Miami-Dade County Assistant Public Defender. From 1991-2006, she defended thousands of indigent clients, preparing their cases from investigation to trial. She handled felonies, traffic cases, juvenile delinquencies, and domestic violence matters. Julia enjoyed training new attorneys and became a lead attorney in a specialized division for five years. She valued her work at the Public Defender’s Office, which focused on protecting the constitutional rights of indigent citizens. Her experience there helped her connect with all court system participants, strengthening her confidence and courtroom skills.

As a law student at American University, she focused on Constitutional Law and defended various clients, including veterans and government employees. In 2006, recognizing the community’s need for a compassionate bankruptcy attorney, she founded her own firm.
