Gustavo Perez is the national leader of the Firm’s Valuation Services practice and he specializes in valuations for purposes of accounting for business combination, goodwill and other intangible assets (ASC 350 and 805), as well as stock-based compensation, derivative instruments and hedging activities (ASC 718 and 815) in a wide range of industries. With more than ten years of experience in valuations and litigation support, Perez provides in-depth financial analysis in large, complex litigation matters, fraud investigations and valuation assignments. He utilizes the Black Scholes Merton and binomial lattice models for compliance with ASC 718 and 815 and SEC requirements to value complex stock options and embedded derivatives. His specific expertise with complex valuations includes: valuation analyses of privately-held companies and intangible assets for purposes of financial reporting compliance; mergers and acquisitions; estate and gift tax; divorce proceedings; shareholder disputes and other legal regulatory and tax-related matters. Perez possesses the ability to communicate complex valuation and litigation issues in both English and Spanish and frequently testifies as an expert witness in litigation and international arbitration cases involving large multinational and Fortune 500 Companies.
