The Next Step in Our Journey
Nearly 12 years ago, the first edition of the South Florida Legal Guide was introduced to our region. It contained a limited listing of the tri-county area’s Top Lawyers, Top Law Firms and Top Up & Comers. Six years later a new listing of Top CPAs in Litigation Support was added to help attorneys find the appropriate experts when dealing with important issues related to their cases.
As time passed, our publication continued to grow as the premier guide to South Florida professionals, thanks to our peer nomination and careful selection process. We then decided to go beyond just the listings with in-depth features about some of the professionals we have featured.
That led us to launch a new Midyear Edition in 2009. Since then, our annual June publication has offered our readers a variety of features, including cases handled by some of our Top Lawyers and litigation support experts, and a closer look at our Top Up & Comers as they gradate to become Top Lawyers. We also began a series of face-to-face roundtable events on topics related to the business of law, and other issues that bring the attorney and CPA community together. Our panelists have been some of the most knowledgeable and respected leaders in their disciplines and the roundtables have been very well received by our audience.
For our 10th anniversary edition two years ago, we decided to highlight a select group of our Top Lawyers who have made a lasting impression in their legal practice and in the South Florida community. To date, we have highlighted the careers of 17 extraordinary Distinguished Attorneys, and we will continue to do so in our 12th anniversary edition due out in December. We also plan to introduce a new feature on several of the region’s Top Law Firms and see why they stand out from the field.
Now, with South Florida Legal Guide’s new Financial Edition, we are bringing a third group of professionals into our publication mix. We believe that bankers, wealth managers and other financial professionals are intimately connected with our attorneys and CPAs. They frequently make referrals or come together as a team to provide the most appropriate combination of services for their clients.
Think about all the ways these three groups of professionals interact: in corporate matters such as business sales, mergers or acquisitions; in divorce and other family law cases; in estate and tax planning; in personal injury cases and settlements; in investment-related immigration matters; in international banking; and in many other types of cases. Of course, bankers and wealth managers also help attorneys and law firms achieve their personal and business goals.
We believe that a coordinated team of legal, accounting and financial experts can provide the best of all three disciplines from the client’s point of view. As the saying goes, “Don’t be penny wise and pound foolish.” By working together with other top professionals, you can enhance your own value to the client and continue to build your practice.
