Louis Martinez is a highly experienced trial lawyer who represents clients in civil and criminal investigations and litigation before federal and state courts. His broad practice includes high profile white-collar criminal defense in areas of health care fraud, mortgage fraud, construction fraud, and money laundering on both the trial and appellate levels, as well as high-net-worth cross-border marital disputes. Mr. Martinez is frequently called upon by various media for guest expert commentary on topics ranging from corruption to white-collar crime. He is currently serving as chairman of the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority Board of Directors. Prior to joining Diaz Reus, Mr. Martinez was the Deputy Chief Assistant Attorney General for the Medicaid Fraud Unit in Florida, where he was responsible for the recovery of millions of dollars in criminal restitution orders, and more than $20 million in civil recoveries over a four-year period.
